ACI 2013 NATIONAL RALLY

Celebrating 40 Years of the Austin Allegro



Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May 2013

@ The Heritage Motor Centre - Gaydon


All members of the Allegro Club will be warmly welcomed at our biggest gathering in recent years to mark 40 Years of the Austin Allegro.



This museum is a great place to visit and holds a massive collection of British vehicles mostly from the BMC, BL, Rover Group stable.


  • The museum is easily accessible, being just 5 minutes from Junction 12 of the M40 Motorway with clear signposting both on and off the motorway.

  • There is an excellent restaurant or members are welcome to bring their own food and refreshments with generous outdoor seating provided. There is also a gift shop.

  • We also have an indoor room for our exclusive use.


Members and associate members will be able to gain FREE ENTRY tickets to the museum from the club control tent over the weekend (on production of their valid Membership card).

Any non-members can gain entry for £5 on Sunday


Our rally on Sunday, the focus of our celebration, also coincides with Gaydon’s Spring Classic show. Our display of cars will be the main attraction. The Metro Club will be there too along with other classic cars.


All Allegros attending will receive a commemorative rally plaque.




SATURDAY 11TH MAY


  • 11.30am – 12.30pm - Colin Corke will give an illustrated talk on his upcoming book about the Allegro in the context of the BL era.

  • AGM (1.30pm – 3pm) – the chance for you to have your say about the running of the club.

  • Anniversary Road Run (3pm-7pm) from Gaydon to Longbridge,, where most Allegros were built. A 30-mile trip using a scenic country route. There will be a chance to stop for tea and cake at Longbridge and a guide of the area will be available.

  • Pub Meal in the Gaydon area around 7.30pm


SUNDAY 12TH MAY – Our main day


  • 11.30am – 12.30pm – ‘Allegro and the BL era’ (as Saturday).

  • Awards for best Series 1, 2, 3, Vanden Plas, Estate, Underbonnet and Visiting classic. Also a prize for the ‘Most Interesting Allegro’. Awards are voted for by members with Presentations, raffle and cake cutting around 3pm.

  • We will welcome Harris Mann, stylist of the Allegro, who hopes to be with us on Sunday as our guest of honour.

  • Allegro 40 Quiz’ - Test your Allegro knowledge for fun. The highest scoring answer sheet will get a prize.

  • Regalia – Purchase commemorative Allegro 40 items (mugs, car stickers etc) and club regalia.

  • Allegro Archive – To view rare Allegro promotional and publicity items and period Allegro related films.

  • Ask about the Allegro’ – Colin Corke will be on hand to answer your Allegro related questions (his expertise is BL & Allegro History)
